Advanced Systems Technology
The Advanced Systems Technology program trains you to troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment to keep production lines and distribution systems running. Instruction is provided in electrical theory, wiring, motor controls, 3-Phase/Single Phase AC/DC motors, blueprint reading, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics and pneumatics, and mechanical systems. Additional introductory courses include welding, machine tool, and an introduction to robotics. Graduates can work in a wide range of settings, including manufacturing, and are employed in every type of industry.
Fast TRAC Welding
Land a good paying job with a career in welding. Washburn Tech offers a fast, one-semester foundational welding program at our Advanced Systems Technology facility in the Forbes Industrial Park. One full-time semester earns you a 21 credit hour technical certificate. You also could be eligible to continue your education and complete more advanced certifications.
The Fast TRAC Welding program will prepare you to apply technical knowledge and skills when bonding or cutting metal parts. Instruction, both formal and self-paced, includes shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, gastungsten arc welding and cutting processes. Emphasis is also placed on quality assurance and control, print reading, safety and workplace skills.

- General Maintenance Repair Worker: $14-$15 per hour
